This week’s activities for the LIBR 246 class under Prof. Debbie Faires is about screencasting, defined by Ellyssa Kroski in her article written for the School Library Journal, That’s infotainment: How to create your own screencasts, as
“videos that record the actions that take place on th ecomputer screen, most often including a narrative audio track, in order to demonstrate various computer-related tasks, such as how to use a software or navigate a certain Web site.”
And to demonstrate competency in producing a screencast, each student needs to record a 2 to 3 minute screencast on any library-related or Web 2.0 topic saved in flash and Quicktime format. This vlog or video blog post presents my screencast produced using the Camtasia Studio 6 screen recording software by TechSmith and is done in flash format. In my screencast I discussed in three minutes, two ways of saving and tagging bookmarks on the social web application tool delicious. So sit back and enjoy my very first screencast.
