Windows 7 Starter Edition
Amazon is already offering Windows 7 starter edition versions of current netbook models on the market. It lists the items as available for release on October 22, official release date for Windows 7. The pre-order prices are quite competitive and it already have most of the popular brand and models in the 10.1″ screen category like the Acer AOD250, the Toshiba NB205, the Gateway LT2023u, Dell Mini 1011, Asus EEE PC Seashell 1008HA, and even the recently announced Samsung N130.
Aside from some models showing a bump in the specs of the HDD from 160 GB to 250 GB, the internals remain the same, with either the Intel Atom 270 or 280, 1 GB of RAM, and a 1024 x 600 screen. Everything looks positive as most users have reported good experience, performance, amd compatibility when they installed Windows 7 RC 2 on their netbooks and Microsoft have already backed away from the plan to put a limitation on the number of applications the Starter Edition can run.
