Windows 7

Windows 7

Microsoft officially launch its new OS, Windows 7, tomorrow . The results of beta testing of Windows 7 have been generally positive and viewed as giving a better experience than Vista. So if you are interested in upgrading your OS to Windows 7 and you are a student currently enrolled with a .edu email, you have a chance to snag a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional editions in either 32 bit or 64 bit flavor for just $29.99.

All you have to do is visit this page on the Microsoft site, or go directly to this page. It will ask you to register using your .edu email which will then be verified and then you just fill in the information required. You can choose the option of also buying the backup DVD, for a minimal price. The offer is only valid for one copy per student. This promotional offer will run till January 3 and I have already ordered mine. I am planning on upgrading my Toshiba M700 tablet pc from Vista Business to Windows 7 professional 64 bit, so I can maximize its Core 2 Duo processor.  Who knows it might improve the processor performance of my M700 which runs really hot when it had Vista Business on it so that I had to downgrade it to XP Tablet Edition. Well, just a day more before the download link is available, all I need now is time to do all this projects that I have lined up. Oh well.
